The Natural Health School Diploma in - Indian Head Massage-

3 Day Full Diploma Course - written and taught by Author of "The Art of Indian Head Massage" - Mary Atkinson: Approved by Embody (30 cpd credits)

This is a full Diploma Course run over a 3 day period. There will then be a multiple choice exam after a 3 to 4 week period whilst case studies are completed.

Indian Head Massage is now one of the most popular therapies in the UK. It involves massage of the upper back, shoulders, neck, arms, scalp and face with the client sitting in an upright chair, so is suitable for many clients and situations. The massage can be practiced with or without oils, whilst the client is clothed or partially clothed.

It is a wonderfully versatile therapy that encourages a sense of calm and relaxation which is so necessary in our stress-filled lives. Short and long term benefits include relief of headaches and eyestrain, improved hair and skin condition, raised energy levels and better sleep patterns.

This Post-Graduate Diploma Course covers all the essential practical and theoretical knowledge necessary to offer a safe, effective and appropriate treatment to a wide range of clients. It is an invaluable addition to any therapies currently practiced and an excellent treatment to take into the workplace.

Mary Atkinson teaches a Western Approach to Indian Head Massage whilst offering students an insight into the history and traditional techniques still practised in India today. Mary places great emphasis on self-care of the therapist and offers a supportive and friendly learning environment making each day fun as well as productive.

Topics covered include: The history of Indian Head Massage, Benefits and Contraindications, Hygiene and Safety, Indian Head Massage Techniques, Oils used in Indian Head Massage, Anatomy & Physiology related to treatment, Skin, Scalp & Hair Conditions, Stress Management, After-care advice, Self-Care for the Therapist, Documentation including consultation forms and treatment records, Case Studies, a very comrehensive Diploma.

Students wishing to gain accreditation will be expected to complete four case studies (one treatment each) and sit a written multiple choice examination and practical assessment on two clients (30 mins each).

Students wishing to take this diploma must have an Anatomy & Physiology Diploma Certificate.

The Diploma course dates are: 20th/22st/22nd June 2008 with exam date on 31st July 2008.

This course can be paid for in 3 interest free instalments, (after paying a deposit of £100 the remaining balance will be invoiced to you monthly). This Comprehensive Diploma Course is passed with Embody for 30 CPD's.
