Common Back & Neck Problems

Would you like to know more about why clients get neck and back pain?
Would you like more skills for treating this area?

After revising the anatomy & physiology of the vertebral column you will learn to identify and explain the pathology of common back and neck problems.  You will then learn to apply and receive a variety of treatments for these problems.

On this 1 day workshop you will learn
- how to name/number every vertebrae in the spine
- how to identify spinous processes- how to locate C6 and C7 and know roughly where to find   
  L4 on a client
- how to identify common areas of spinal pain
- understand why pain occurs in these areas
- understand the difference between kyphosis, lordosis and scoliosis
- to carry out a treatment plan for kyphosis
- to carry out a treatment plan for sub-acute whiplash
- to carry out a treatment plan for torticollis/wry neck
- to carry out a treatment plan for low back pain

- to perform effective passive spinal stretches
- to demonstrate effective active spinal stretches
- to perform Soft Tissue Release on levator scapulae
- to perform safe PNF stretches to erector spinae
- to apply a range of advanced back massage techniques through a towel, on dry skin and with oil.
